HB Williams Memorial Library is proud to host a Toi Matariki Exhibition from July 3rd – July 31st featuring a collection of creative arts from our community.
Curation has begun for Toi Matariki | Exhibition 2023 – a collection of creative reflections from our community. Submissions are open until June 16th for creations that reflect this year’s theme – Kua haehae ngā hihi o Matariki | The rays of Matariki are spread. Once your proposal is submitted we will need to receive your mahi no later than Friday 23rd June to prepare for the Exhibition. Space is limited, so we would love to hear what you are planning and have the opportunity to allocate the appropriate space for your creations!
Ideas for creation:
- Artworks on Paper or Card
- Photography (Digital or Print)
- A Poem or Song
- Something theatrical or a TV episode perhaps
- Music
- A Story
- An Installation
- Dance
Performance Pieces
- Can be recorded and sent through to be electronically displayed
- Can be performed to the public through discussion with the library staff
Submissions are welcome from anyone in Te Tairāwhiti
You can participate as:
- An Individual
- A whānau, or friend group
- Class or syndicate
- Kura/school
- Workplace
- Community Group
- Other
