The artists of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Waiu o Ngāti Porou invite you to attend the opening night of Te Ara Patupaiarehe.

Nestled in the heart of Ruatorea, in the forest trees of Manutahi hill, patupaiarehe the kaitiaki of our ngāhere have built their homes. According to Ngāti Porou folklore, patupaiarehe are the guardians and the spiritual embodiment of our environment.

We welcome you to experience the magic and whimsy of our Manutahi patupaiarehe, immerse yourself in the dense natural forest and all its beauty, and engage with our artists to celebrate the opening of Te Ara Patupaiarehe.

You can expect, music, giveaway food packs, activities, art, lights, nature and some special surprises throughout the evening. Please register to one of the three sessions to attend the trail walk, bring suitable footwear, use care and stay on the track.

Te Ara Patupaiarehe will be operating in 3 sessions:

  • 5:30pm – 6:30pm *
  • 7pm – 8pm – SESSION FULL
  • 8pm – 9pm – SESSION FULL
  • 9pm – 10pm

*priority to this session will be given to kaumātua and tamariki, however whānau can choose to take tamariki on another session time if they want to go as a group. A buggy will be available in this session to take kaumātua up and down Manutahi hill.
