Our Artist Resilience Wānanga this weekend have been epic!
Guest speakers shared their knowledge and experience with local artists to help provide useful tools and information to support their practices. Yesterday we had some great insights from practitioners Chevron Hassett, Teina and Ngapaki Moetara and also Creative New Zealand Arts Practice Director for Māori, Kereama Te Ua. In the afternoon artists joined expert workshops with Lady Rose Lardelli, Dr Brett Graham, Kaaterina Kerekere & Eloise Wallace. Today we heard kōrero from Tāwera Tahuri, Ngapera Riley, Isaac Hughes, Nikau Hindin and also Tamahou Temara from Toi Māori Aotearoa.
A huge mihi to our facilitator Ruth Smith and thank you all for bringing your expertise to help support our local artists in growing their mahi toi! Mauriora!
We’ll be holding more wānanga in the coming months so keep an eye out for future events!
