Mozart’s vigorous Paris symphony is followed by Richard Strauss’ Horn Concerto No.1 performed by NZSO principal horn Samuel Jacobs.
Mendelssohn’s Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage conveys the conditions an ocean traveller would face, while Schumann’s Spring symphony, which closes the concert, conveys a longing for Spring.
