A Māori boy’s musical about his Hollywood hero.
This award-winning solo cabaret show by acclaimed entertainer Rutene Spooner charts his personal journey growing up as a young kapa haka student, to becoming a musical theatre star after discovering the secret identity of his hero, Hugh Jackman.
Spooner presents a witty and rousing night of entertainment, uncovering that it’s okay to be a different kind of man – one who’s strong AND sensitive.
Treat yourself to a night of haka and high kicks as well as a stirring touch of fierce and fabulous.
Super Hugh-Man is a shamelessly charming and heartfelt story, intricately weaving together comedy, dance, kapa haka and waiata into a stunning cabaret experience.
“...Spooner's autobiographical musical is deceptively complex. Honest, uplifting, stirring and hilarious..."
